Our story
Dr. Sarah Laszlo founded Sublimate in 2025. A computational neuroscientist, Laszlo leveraged her extensive knowledge of AI image generation to develop hyper-realistic avatars and generate new scenes based on audience feedback.
In the process, she developed a new suite of AI tools that quickly and cost-efficiently generate hyper-realistic representations of humans in still and moving images with each generation improving on the basis of real-world feedback from fans and followers on social media.
A culture of Joy
Our co-founder, Emi Kolawole, firmly believes that joy and invention walk hand-in-hand. The greatest inventions come from a place of lightness, flow, and curiosity — in essence, a place of joy. When we experience joy, hard things don’t get easier, but they feel easier and more rewarding.
Sublimate started with our founder’s love of K-pop and the joy it gave her. It wasn’t easy developing a method for quickly training light-weight, bespoke, personal foundation models — but it felt easy because of the joy the object of her efforts gave her. That’s how we build at Sublimate. We don’t build simply because something needs to exist in the world, we find a way in to the problem that lights us up from the inside first.
